It's Cracked

I wanted to make some Christmas Crack, so while we were at Walmart today, I tried to remember the recipe. I grabbed some whole pecans, a thing of dark brown sugar, and some milk chocolate chips. When I post the recipe at the end of this blog, you'll be able to see all my errors. So I bought all the wrong stuff, and I didn't have any real butter, just margarine, but I figured recipes are meant to be tweaked, so I tried to make it anyways. It looked pretty disgusting when I took it out of the oven.

Pretty disgusting and just a little burnt.

Maybe after I put it in the fridge it will be pretty.

Nope! Still looks like shit!

But it tastes oh so effing good.

Christmas Crack
1 cup REAL butter
1 cup LIGHT brown sugar (that means not dark!)
12oz chocolate chips
CHOPPED nuts, your choice
1 sleeve saltines

Preheat your oven to 400.
Line a cookie sheet with foil. Cover sheet with one layer of saltines.
(My cookie sheet wasn't big enough, so I had to use two, just try to keep them all together and touching.)
In a saucepan, heat BUTTER until melted, add brown sugar.
Bring to rolling boil for about three minutes.
Pour over your crackers.
Bake in oven for about five minutes.
Take it back out and throw your chocolate chips on it.
Back in the oven until they're pretty melty.
Spread the chocolate over all the crackers, then throw your CHOPPED (not whole) nuts on top.
Throw it in your fridge for a couple hours, and then break up into little pieces.
I hope yours comes out better than mine. :)

I don't know why but the crack just doesn't sound appealing to me. One, I hate pecans..nuts in general really unless it's cashews. Two, saltines? Hm, maybe with my chili or with some sort of salty topping.

Ah, whatever. I've now read about the crack twice so as long as someone out there enjoys it.
