The Creek with the G-Parents

Playing in the water with Pappy.

Slides, stairs and lounging.

Sky-gazing with Daddy.

Evelynn enjoys the park in her own way. She just sleeps through the whole ordeal.

Well-Baby Visit

As I fight tooth and nail to lose the baby weight, Evie's baby weight skyrockets. She has gained almost two pounds since her birth seventeen days ago. I thought she was looking pretty darn large.

Mads continues on her tiny toddler curve, hitting 15% for weight at 24lbs. If both girls keep this up, Evelynn will be bigger than Mads in a few years.

Madelynn got a finger prick for lead testing and one shot. My big girl didn't shed even one tear.

I couldn't have done it without Mom! One toddler and one newborn in a Doctor's office is not fun. I'm glad it's over.

Happy 4th

There was food.

And tons of napping.

I can't show you Madelynn's adorable outfit because she was already wet

and naked by the time I pulled my camera out.

Happy Fourth!

In two short years, I almost forgot the magic (and fatigue) that a new baby brings. The perfect baby smell, the soft as silk hair, the weight of her on your chest. The baby-moon is such a powerful time, the fierce love that literally consumes you is almost frightening. I do remember that it doesn't last long enough, so I'm trying to breathe as much of her in as possible before her fuzzy hair starts falling out and I find my couch covered in yellow poop from an explosive diaper.

It saddens me to think that this all ends so soon, but then I look at my amazing two year old and all is right with the world. These beautiful little babies turn into beautiful little toddlers, and I'm OK with that.

I'm Always Wrong

The fear I had that Mads would hate her baby sister was totally a waste of emotion. She loves her baby. I think it's a mutual thing.
