Marvin Thomas Meeker September 10, 1938 - February 22, 2011 Marvin Thomas Meeker, 73, of Bellefonte, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born in Pine Glen on Sept. 10, 1938, a son of the late Leon B. and Jennie A. Robison Meeker. On May 4, 1957, he married Mildred Baney in Milesburg, she survives at home. Marvin was a chainsaw operator for many years for several tree services in the area until he was disabled in a logging accident. He served his country in the US Army, 3rd Battalion, serving in Berlin, Germany. Marvin enjoyed watching Evangelist, Pat Robertson and Oral Roberts on TV. He was an avid boxing fan and enjoyed listening to bluegrass music. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lou Ann (Donald) Conklin, of Bellefonte, Nita Meeker (Jed), of Centre Hall and Tammy (Earl) Mitchell, of Howard; three sons, Thomas, of Bellefonte, James (Susan), of Bellefonte and Marvin Terry (Mary Beth), of Johnstown; three sisters, Pearl Merritt, Lovina McGonigal and Patricia Conaway; 11 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his favorite little girl, Misty. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Gaines. Calling hours will be Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 135 W. Main St., Howard. Private funeral and burial will be held at the family's convenience.
