Saving Daylight

I was really worried about daylight savings time. Madelynn's bed-time routine is pretty much written in stone. On very rare occasions, a late dinner or special day will interfere, causing bath-time to be skipped and story time to be short and sweet, but the majority of the time, we keep a pretty strict schedule when it comes to sleep. I was afraid that the loss of one hour would ruin everything, and it would take me months or years (slight exaggeration) to get back to our norm.

It's becoming a habit that I worry over nothing. Mads woke up at 8am, a half hour later than usual, and took all naps on time. The transition was a breeze. To celebrate the presence of light at 6:45pm, I decided to change up the routine just a little bit. Instead of story time right before sleepy-time, I bumped it up to right before bath time.

At 6pm on the dot, we had tubby time like always:

Mads swallowed just a little too much bath water:

After I did lotion and fought her into some jammies, we all (Wic-bag included) convened on the bed for a little pre-sleep romp-fest:

After Madelynn played nice by giving hugs, she returned to her monstrous-baby-self for a little tail chewing:

Wic took the abuse for about 28 seconds, then high-tailed it to the safety of the closet. The lack of fuzzy kitty didn't deter Madelynn from savoring a little animal ear:

Poor puppy. After a few rolls with Mommy, and one excruciatingly long airplane ride, Mads finally gave in to the sleep inducing powers of the breast:

6:58pm. Saving daylight really wasn't that bad.

This is the first time in a while that the time change hasn't messed us up....yet. I probably spoke too soon!
